From his music you can tell that Will Vinson has collaborated with kindred saxophone players Chris Potter and Mark Turner as well as eccentric singer-songwriters such as Rufus Wainwright and Sufjan Stevens: his melodies sound like vocal lines. His compositions sound contemporary and still connected to the jazz tradition. The New York-based Briton recently released the album Perfectly Out of Place, which was produced by the famous Cuban jazz pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba.

‘Incredibly original... With his expansive tonal and dynamic range on alto, Vinson conjures the sounds of some of the instrument’s most famous players’ (Downbeat).
