Guitarist Anton Goudsmit (The Ploctones, Estafest, New Cool Collective) leads the esteemed Dutch National Youth Jazz Orchestra.

In 2017 and 2018 guitarist Anton Goudsmit is the artistic director and conductor of the esteemed Dutch National Youth Jazz Orchestra. Every two years this big band is reformed with the best young talents. They will tour together following intensive coaching and special collaborative projects, for example Jong Metropole (Young Metropole).

Anton Goudsmit is the founder and main composer of The Ploctones and co-initiator of the chamber jazz quartet Estafest. He made name with New Cool Collective and won the VPRO/Boy Edgar Prize in 2010. ‘He’s called the most amusing guitarist in The Netherlands, because of his ecstatic and fully dedicated way of performing’ (de Volkskrant).
